Overview of Cromwell Road Bus Station

The bus station is a long thin island with a pedestrian entrance at both ends.  There are bus stops on both the right and left, a covered walkway down the middle, and seating at most bus stops. There is an information kiosk, one public toilet which is accessible and a coffee shop.

Coming from Kingston train station details are

As you enter the bus station the café is immediately on your left. It sells hot and cold drinks and snacks.  It closes at six P M during the week and eleven P M on Fridays and Saturdays.  The café is closed on Sundays.

Next on your left is the information kiosk which is open from six thirty A M to nine thirty P M. However, staff are often away from the desk helping passengers around the bus station and you may need to ask a member of the public if they can see where staff are.  Outside of these hours the bus station is not staffed.

A public toilet is located behind the information kiosk.  It is locked and unavailable when bus station staff are not on duty. To find the toilet, keep the information kiosk on your left, follow the wall round to the left until you come to some seats.  The toilet door is the first door on the left after the seats.

Bus stops A1, A2 and A3 are on the right of the main walkway, they serve bus routes passing through.

Bus stands A5 to A16 are on the left of the walkway with Stand A5 being just after the information kiosk and A16 at the far end of the walkway.  These bus stands serve routes that terminate and start at Cromwell Road. Stands A5 to A16 are finger pontoons where the front of the bus pulls up to the walkway.  The finger pontoons are too small for buggies or wheelchairs, anyone with a buggy or wheelchair should wait at bus stop A4.

Bus stop A4 is known as the accessible bus stop and is located behind the information kiosk just past the toilet.  Anyone with a buggy or wheelchair wanting to board a bus departing from Stand A5 to A16 should wait here. Note this is a request stop.

CCTV and enhanced lighting are in place throughout the bus station.
