With soaring temperatures predicted over the weekend and into next week, the NHS is sharing important health information for residents in southwest London to keep them safe in the sun.
We are signposting our residents to where they can get advice and guidance during this period of extremely hot weather, including directing them to their community pharmacists, visiting NHS online to check their symptoms, and calling the free NHS 111 service.
The NHS is available for anyone who needs it, and we are also asking everyone to look out for each other, particularly by checking in on vulnerable friends and neighbours.
Key messages:
- Stay safe in the sun – drink plenty of water, stick to the shade, use high-factor sun cream and take allergy medicine when it’s needed.
- For minor illnesses, you can get fast and free advice on the best course of action from the NHS 111 or by visiting your local pharmacy.
- The NHS will always be there for anyone who needs it, but everyone can help by checking in on vulnerable friends and neighbours.
